[ a little after the Plot was revealed to everyone, katara is going to hunt lief down. it's a little weird to seek out people you just met after finding out there is a chance they might murder you, but she's got shit to do. ]

I'm not sure. It might depend on whether they wanted to hide our kidnapping or not? They can already... make doubles of people, I guess? Who knows what else they could accomplish.

[Though he's trying to tone it down, he looks uneasy, because hahahaha guess who nearly had a breakdown in front of Hal over this.

When he speaks, his tone is bitter.]

It is difficult to say what they would be motivated to do. I could see any option being entertaining for them.

[ she's about to reply to that, but then pauses. ]

[ anyone would be after what they found out today, but... he only really started acting like this after they approached the current topic. ]

... I am fine. [He's the furthest thing from fine, but ehhh.] Merely—worried. But there is little I can do about that, so it does not matter.

If you're sure. But, you know, if you ever need to vent, I'm sure people here will listen even if you don't want to give details. I know that it might be difficult to open up to people who might potentially kill you, but...

[ katara isn't the type to suspect every single person without cause. ]

[... Lief isn't really sure of how to vent to people anymore. As king, he's supposed to be infallible, after all.]

Things are already going to be hard enough if we're really going to be here as long as they say, with everything else happening. I'd like to help where I can.

That is a good attitude to have.

I do not suppose you could ensure that he does not, in fact, kill anyone...

I have a few ideas, actually. He doesn't seem like the type who takes well to being told what to do so I just have to make it seem like it's his idea.

I know what you mean by the type. How do you intend to do that?

It'll probably take some arguing.

[ she sounds like she is very prepared to do this. ]

... If nothing else, you likely would have had to argue with him either way.

[So yes, he can understand why she is Prepared.]

It's probably better that I got stuck with him than someone else.

[ since again, she's at least used to dealing with people with tempers who's bad at listening to others. ]

And at the very least, even should you fail to persuade him, he cannot bring great harm to you if he too wishes to survive.

[Which is another upside, at least as far as Lief's concerned. Well, sort of. The idea of Inuyasha killing anyone is kind of an automatic downer already.]

That's true. This system gives you one less person to worry about automatically.

... which really isn't my favorite line of thinking.
