[ absolutely nothing about that execution was okay.

going into it, katara knew that things weren't going to really end well for anyone. with so many people getting killed at once, it would have been surprising if it ran smoothly without incident. and the incidents did happen, ranging from the... questionable (what the fuck, jacks) to understandable (vriska's reaction before she stormed out).

but mostly it was just sad. sad, and hard, and it's still not over.

she's returning to her hut when she spots vriska near the bonfire. considering her angry exit, katara wonders if she should leave her alone. she doesn't exactly approach her, but she does stop to address her. ]

Are you going to be okay?

Yes, Katara, [ Vriska will reply, sounding incredibly tired. ] That is not the first time I have seen a friend die.

[ She will glance at Katara, searching and thoughtful. ]

[ it's an interesting mix of emotions, being both heartbroken at the loss of friends and also filled with hatred towards this system that caused it. and katara is a crier. she cries when she's happy and she cries when she's mad. she's trying hard to not do so right now. it's not because she thinks it makes her weak, but she doesn't want to accidentally run into the robots.

they don't deserve to see anyone's tears. ]

No. But that's not going to stop me.

Good. That's what I like to hear.

[ Vriska will sit up a little straighter. ]

I meant every word I said back there. And I'll need all of you to back me up if I'm going to rip this game apart.

I'm not sure of all of us is going to be possible, since the Sirens seem to have their own way of helping us.

[ she doesn't sound too happy about that. ]

I want this to end though, especially if it means ending in a way that has less death. I don't want to give those monsters what they want.

I'll take what I can get, [ she'll drawl. ]

... but otherwise, I agree with that. Playing by their rules is getting us nowhere fast, aside from dumb and dead.

We all heard what Battler had to say, right? About what the Sirens have to do to win. I want to know what you think. Do you believe it's possible for there to be a third way to end the game?

I don't know if there is, but I'm not going to take the possibility off the table. I don't think we should act as if we only have one or two choices until we have complete proof saying so.

[ she frowns at the mention of battler though. ]

... I was actually talking to someone, before this weekend. We actually guessed correctly of what might be motivating the killers.

[ Quirks a brow. ]

Okay, two questions. One, what is it, and two, how do you know you're correct? Did you somehow get some kind of confirmation?

I mean, unless Battler was lying...?

[ which could be the case, but. ]

Oh, you mean Battler confirmed what you were thinking. Alright, fair enough! It all sounds pretty nice, and at least makes the Sirens sound less horrible! Which might be pretty suspect in itself, but it's all we've got for right now.

They're still killing people in a pretty horrific fashion, so I'd still consider them horrible even if it's less so.
