[Snow is the spawn of demons and Hiro answers the door not only wrapped up in his hoodie but with his bedsheets as well. This isn't exactly working out for him, but it's good enough. His eyes widen a bit when he sees Katara and he scoots out of the way to let her inside.]

What's up?

[ she enters the hut before she starts talking again. ]

Sorry to show up so early, but I wanted to show you this before the weekend.

[ she'll pull her letter out of her pocket, and just hand it to him. ]

It's fine, I was up. [But he waves off her concerns and takes the letter, immediately scanning over it before fixing Katara with a grim expression.]

...yeah, he's right. Zuko called it correctly last weekend. And there were a lot of people who knew it. [Surprise.]

That figures. She was acting really suspiciously, but not a lot of people jumped on that for as much as they could have. Which... is a reoccurring problem for us, I guess.

[ i was totally at that trial. ]

There were plenty of people defending her after he accused her though.

[In my heart you were absolutely present. But he settles for a heavy sigh because there. Are plenty of problems here.]

That's the thing about people doing things that are wrong. Befriend people in high places, they're going to defend you. Or, you can be an idiot like me and make a deal with them.

[Guess who's not happy.] Things got a little more out of hand than I thought they would, and I don't know how many people actually know about her by now, but I don't think it's a small number. Lief knows now. Obviously I know. Vriska told me she has one other person she trusts that she told and...it's like you said. Bellamy and Lief would be our best bets to have information. If I had to guess? It might be him.

She's not really being subtle anymore but she's still getting away with it because people are defending her. Weird, isn't it? What are people hiding? What are people planning? I know why I kept my head down but what about everybody else?

[...] And how'd Zuko come to that conclusion anyway?

Kind of the same way that the two of us did. How we both thought she stood out because of what she was saying. And then he pieced together other things, like how stuff she was saying was too contradictory. The last trial basically cemented it for him, with how she was acting during it.

[ she doesn't seem surprised about lief knowing. it's like hiro pointed out, katara did think that if anyone would have info, it'd probably be him. she wouldn't be surprised if bellamy is the other, too. ]

I know that a lot of people are convinced that the Sirens are the "good guys", [ she does the air quote, because the term good is so twisted now after all of this dang murder ] but... I don't know. I don't think Joshua would have worded this letter the way that he did if that was the case.

Sometimes I think she wants to be caught. And that she knows people will defend her. It's a stupid...complicated thing. But we'll see what happens next. Just tell Zuko he was right.

The thing is...the Sirens aren't the good guys. And they know that. Both of them. [And here he just looks a little uncomfortable.] They were lied to just like the rest of us. The other Siren just found out this week. Vriska's known for a few weeks, I think. You know Vriska. Plans in motion, irons in the fire. All of that. But I know they're both ready for the game to be over and they're just as done as we are. But how do you tell thirteen other people that? [Two Sirens and one Hiro.]

I've learned a lot recently. I'm actually glad you came by because there's some other stuff you should know. I saw Lief earlier this morning, too.

What did you hear from Lief?

[ there's another pause, longer, before she asks her next question. ]

And what do you mean by two? There's supposed to be three left. Unless... who was it? One of the people who just disappeared?

[ the chiefs said that he would reveal the roles of anyone who died this trial, but what hiro said is worded in a way that implies he knows they one of the sirens is definitely out of play. ]

[...whoops.]

...I guess it doesn't even matter anymore. But yeah. Raven. I had it confirmed by a couple of people, including Vriska.

[That had been super helpful.] There's a chance she lied to me, but again, she'd be lying to a lot of people. Lief confirmed that was the information he had, too. But anyway...he got a letter from Lelouch, Joshua and Jacopo.

It's partially stuff I already knew, partially stuff I already told you, and partially stuff I had suspected but didn't confirm. The Sirens were lied to and if they win, all of us are going to die. We have to trust the Wickie to get us all home. That seems to be the key, but Lief wouldn't confirm or deny if he knew who that was.

The main thing though...remember how I said a few weeks ago I thought this might be virtual reality? Yona was more right than I was. The thing is, none of this is real because we're all in a dream. I've never heard of group dreaming before, but it makes a lot of things make a lot of sense.

A dream.

[ a lot of the stuff he said is concerning, but that's definitely the most prominent thing that's sticking out here. ]

So there's a chance that we're still home, just dreaming? [ ... ] But I'm sure if we die in the dream, then we'd still die in real life, unless we win, right? Or else I'm not sure why we'd be allowed to have this information so early.

If the information came from the dead I think Newt and I were also on the right track. There's an in-between place for all of us when we die. It's why they're all together and why they can see us. Like layers in a dream? Interlacing.

There are four ways the game can end. [He begins to tick the ways off on his fingers.] Someone sacrifices themselves to the volcano. All of the Sirens die. Everyone dies. Everyone but seven people die. We don't know which way leads to what kind of ending but that's how the game can end. And I don't know if the Wickie knows yet, but supposedly we have to trust them.

...seven, apparently, is the number of dreams though. That was the explanation for that one.

[ wow. all of those sure do sound horrible. ]

Okay, so, if this week we somehow end up with seven people left after Sunday, even if it's just by a fluke, then the game ends? It doesn't matter what seven people? Or is that all the info there is about that one?

Maybe. That's the thing I don't have confirmation on, and my Siren didn't know the details either. We were trying to figure out everything but...I don't know.

One of the Sirens already accepted that death is going to be their only option. The other has a plan and I don't know what it is and that's horrifying. Guess which is which.

[ yeah it doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. ]

... did Magilou show you Keith's letter?

Yes. Which is the other reason I'm telling you all of this. Why?

You don't have to answer this if you don't want to, obviously, but did you and Yona have issues?

[ since the letter was kind of ??? about the two of them working together. ]

[He looks a little surprised by the question.]

No. I mean, when we first met we fought a little and I was mad and volunteered to sleep outside but...that was all in the first week. We've been weirdly in sync since then.

...she's a lot smarter than she thinks she is. And I don't want anything bad to happen to her, so that's why I've been operating a lot on my own. Making deals, working with people to get information. I want everybody to get home, but she's been around for all five weeks.

My question is why didn't Keith mention Inuyasha?

I like Yona a lot. She's brave and tries really hard, so I'm not surprised that Keith mentioned her.

[ she and keith were frequently on the same wavelength about a lot of things.

at the question about her partner though, she shrugs. ]

Inuyasha isn't really the... personable type? He wants to use physical action more than anything, which works out where he's from, but not really in a situation like this. [ ... ] I think we lucked out that I got partnered with him instead of someone else. I don't think someone else would get along with him as well as I do.

She's doing her best to help everybody and that's probably the most admirable thing about her.

...but yeah, I noticed. He's sort of a loose cannon and I don't know how you've kept a leash on the guy, but he seems to be pretty protective of you. It doesn't hurt that you're weirdly patient when you want to be.

Anyway, Yona and I talked to Magilou yesterday. We were trying to go over some of her notes to figure out what else may help us, but then I talked to other people and Lief and now...here we are.

[ "weirdly patient when you want to be." she snorts at that. hiro sure... knows how to charm 'em. ]

Who haven't you really talked to? Out of all the people who are still alive.

To a large extent? [He thinks for a moment.] Inuyasha and Jinah come to mind first. Nanashi, too. Everybody else I think I've either spoken to like this or we've at least talked a little during trials. Lief wanted me to help spread information to some people and Jinah's the one I'm not sure how to randomly approach and say "hey I don't really know you but this is all a dream."

I have Inuyasha covered, obviously. Nanashi... I've spoken to a few times, but not like this.

[ but jinah. ]

I'm not sure about her either. I helped her with some wounds before, that she got when we were all hallucinating a few weeks ago. But... she's especially tricky because of how protective she is of Vriska, too. If the conversation veers into Siren talk at all she'll probably get defensive.

I think I can ask Yona to tell Nanashi. They're kind of friends and he might listen to her.

[Hm.] Hey, Katara. Do...you think Jinah even knows? I mean hear me out about this. Yona and I work pretty well together, but I've been keeping a lot of secrets from her, too. What if it's the same here?

... I wouldn't be surprised. When Vriska was telling me about Jinah, she sounded very... fond? So I wouldn't be surprised if she's keeping something that big from her, even if it's just to protect her.

[ if that's the case then katara feels really bad for jinah. the reveal is going to be pretty terrible. ]

That makes me wonder what she has shared with her though. [ ... ] I can try reaching out to her, and see what happens.

Vriska's like...she's kind of intense and weird and maybe a little insane, but I think she still does care about people. As much as she can, anyway. And we know Jinah's defensive of Vriska so I can only imagine they've talked and bonded or whatever, so...

[This is going to be Awful.]

It might be better coming from you than from me is all. People might find you less suspicious than me.

I wouldn't call you suspicious, you just...

[ are obviously very nosy and are likely to Know Shit, which. okay that probably qualifies as suspicious. ]

But alright.

[He rolls his eyes because...yeah, don't even try, Katara.]
